I think you have to decide if going private is right for you. I personally have not had any issues with my blog but I have had friends that have. But please invite me to join your blog if you do.
I have heard more and more recently that you should to portect yourself and your children. I am thinking about it as well.
We did for awhile, but some of our "older" family members didn't understand how to log on, so we went back to public. I personally like when they are not private because you can just click on the link and up it pops...I don't look at my friends or families blogs that are private very much. But, it isn't too hard to type in your user name and password to see a blog-so I say do whatever you want to do! I too may go private once again after I show the few family members how to log in properly-lol!
