Change

There have been a lot of changes this past month in our house. Good ones of course. Here are a few...

Nolan had a Birthday and TURNED ONE! It is always strange when you realize your baby is not a baby. That first year just flew by. He is busy walking and learning how to make messes. He has such a fun personality and we love his fun smile. The birthday cake was no problem for him. As you can see when I say he ate the cake...he really did.
Oh Hayden...what am I going to do with you now that your best friend Kayla is going to Kindergarten?? I saw this face and had to laugh, grab my camera and take a picture of my green mustache man. However, when I turned around and found Green Marker drawn all over my house: walls, tables, couch- yep.. on SIX cushions mind you and up the arm and back down the couch back- Green Mustache Man became not so cute anymore and was sent directly to time out. and no certainly no cute pictures this time.

Josh's Grandma passed away the first week of August. As tradition, we traveled to Idaho every 4th of July to visit her small town and participate in all the fun traditions. She was an amazing woman with so much love and we will miss her so much. We had a great time meeting new relatives, catching up with family, and remembering the little things in life that really do matter the most. Family and Faith. Here is Kayla at the funeral. FOr some reason this picture really hits me hard. Funeral was on Sat. and she went to Kindergarten Monday after 13 hours in the car- I was a bit nervous. All of a sudden she is so BIG! She was old enough to really understand and show emotion. She was pretty upset and hurt to see Grandma Peden go. We are so grateful for our knowledge that we will see her again!Kayla and I survived the first week of Kindergarten. Not without stress of course- but we made it. The first day was no problem amidst my worries. SHe felt fine, I felt fine. UNTIL- she came out after the first day and said: "MOM, they said I have to go back tomorrow, and I don't want to, I just want to stay home with you". From there everyday got a little harder...for her and Me. Tuesday no outfit fit just right. Wednesday she couldn't find the right animal to ride with her. Thursday she didnt want to wear her bike helmet. THEN- thursday at the K gate we had a crying melt down and She was NOT going to Kindergarten. It took 45 min. of convincing and getting to the bottom of what was bothering her(fear of the fire drill)- and we made it back one hour later. LUCKILY- Friday went smooth, and I HOPE she now is getting the hang of it. We still have to survive a real fire drill- so fingers crossed. Overall, she has been doing great once we actually get to school. And to think---this is only half day! oh boy.

Best wishes to you all!

What cute kids. Kayla really does look so grown up. Jay is starting kindergarten in 2 weeks, you just made me even more nervous. Hopefully things will go smoother for you this week!

Beautiful boy Nolan enjoying his first birthday cake! He is such a cutie.
Hayden is too funny with that green maker. I can't even imagine how lonely he is without Kayla around. There's a reason you're his mommy because if my kid did that I would send them to your house, You were built for things like that.
Kayla is getting so big she just looks older. We miss you guys so much! i hope she starts to like school more and more each day. We miss you guys.

Your kids are adorable Brooke! I am going to be a wreck when Marlie has to go to school. You did good! Good thing I have awhile before that. Now my challenge is trying to get Marlie to not cry in the car. She hates the car seat.
